ABOUT AFROTURKLER

Regarding our being confused with AFROTURKLER

Dear Followers,

As we periodically do, I would like to address once again the difference between our African Turkish Foundation (AFROTURK) and the African Solidarity and Mutual Aid Association (AFRO-TURKLER), which are often confused.

While the concept of AFROTURK refers to the unifying force between African and Turkish nations in different geographies and cultures, the concept of AFRO-TURKLER refers to our brothers and sisters of African origin who were settled mainly from East African countries to the Aegean coasts of Anatolia during the Ottoman Empire period and adopted Turkish identities.

Founded in 1999, AFROTURK, as an international foundation, focuses on apolitical impact investments in African countries through dozens of African or Turkish companies and legal networks it has brought together under its umbrella; while AFRO-TURKLER, or the African Culture Solidarity and Mutual Aid Association, aims to coordinate cooperation among our brothers and sisters of African origin living in Turkey and to preserve and promote their root cultures. The use of the term AFRO-TURKLER by the African Culture Solidarity and Mutual Aid Association is a result of the selfless support we provided to our late friend Mustafa Olpak, the founding president, during his visit to our Turkey office in 2005. Otherwise, AFROTURK and all related concepts are international trademarks registered by the African Turk Foundation in 2000. Therefore, we kindly request that our local or foreign friends who wish to obtain information about the activities of our sister organization, the African Culture Solidarity and Mutual Aid Association (AFRO-TURKLER), first visit the official website of the AFRO-TURKLER association and refer to the contact details found there: https://afroturkler.com/

Sincerely,

African Turk Foundation/Afroturk B-Corp Board of Directors
