HISTORICAL SPEECH OF TOGOLESE MINISTER

At the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), Togo s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Overseas Togolese, Robert Dussey, took the podium. Minister Dussey made a speech that left its mark on the meeting and harshly criticized Europe’s perspective on Africa.

“Who are you to despise us?”

Togolese Minister Robert Dussey made remarkable statements and made an interesting speech at the UN General Assembly. “The people of Africa frustrated because they feel humiliated and dehumanized.” Minister Dussey said, “Sometimes they ask themselves, ‘Who are you to belittle our humanity like this? Who are you to despise us like this? Who are you to belittle us like this?’ he said.

“WE WANT TO BE YOUR PARTNERS, NOT YOUR SUBJECTS”

Stating that Africa needs a partnership that respects the dignity of every individual, Minister Dussey said, “We want to be your partners, not your subjects. We want to serve our people, not foreign interests. This new dynamic is not against anyone, and we say this over and over again. This is new.” It is the expression of an Africa, an African Africa, a polyphonic Africa, an Africa that is free, sovereign, independent and wants to be its own master.” said.

“WE ARE TIRED OF YOU UNDERESTIMATE OUR PEOPLE”

Addressing the European leaders, Togolese Minister Dussey said, “We are tired of you belittling our people s views, of your contempt for our people and our leaders. We are tired of your contempt, we are tired of your arrogance. We are tired, we are tired and we are tired!” he said.
