CONGRATS TO TURKISH WOMEN S BOXING TEAM

The Turkish National Women s Boxing Team made its way into Turkish boxing history by winning 5 gold and 2 bronze medals at the IBA World Women’s Boxing Championship.

Turkey s national athletes completed the tournament held in Istanbul Başakşehir Youth and Sports Facilities with a total of 7 medals, 5 gold and 2 bronze.

Ayşe Çağrıır in 48 kg, Buse Naz Çakıroğlu in 50 kg, Hatice Akbaş in 54 kg, Busenaz Sürmeneli in 66 kg and Şennur Demir in 81+ kg won the gold medal by defeating their opponents in the final.

Sema Caliskan in 70 kilos and Elif Guneri in 81 kilos finished the championship with a bronze medal.

National athletes broke the record by leaving behind the 2005 World Championship, in which 5 medals were won, and the 2008 World Championships, where 2 championships came, and achieved the most successful World Championship of Turkish boxing.
