ERDOGAN IS IN TUNISIA

Erdoğan paid a visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial in Tunisia which was built in memory of the Tunisian citizens martyred during the Arab Spring in 2011.

The national anthems of Turkey and Tunisia were played and a gun salute was fired during the ceremony held on the occasion of the visit, with President Erdoğan laying wreath at the memorial and praying for the martyrs.

Having completed his programme in Tunisia with his visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial, President Erdoğan proceeded to Tunis Carthage International Airport to leave for Turkey.

President Erdoğan was seen off at the airport by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui and the Tunisian President’s Personal Representative Lazhar Karoui Chebbi as well as other relevant officials of the two countries.

Erdoğan, who is paying an official visit to Tunisia, met with President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Tunisia, the last stop of his three-country African tour covering Sudan, Chad and Tunisia.

President Erdoğan was welcomed at Tunis Carthage International Airport by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui and the Tunisian President’s personal representative Lazhar Karoui Chebbi as well as other relevant officials of the two countries.

Accompanying President Erdoğan during his visit to Tunisia are First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of Finance Naci Ağbal, Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz, Minister of National Defense Nurettin Canikli and Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan.
